Nodely Tool 10

Cloth simulation and wrinkle detail

Shape the cloth. Finish the detail.

Build cloth motion with Loom Solver, then add fine surface folds with Loom Wrinkle. Keep material regions, pins, seams, collisions and wrinkle influence together inside Houdini.

Why Loom Solver & Wrinkle

Less setup.
More direction.

Separate the main cloth motion from the finishing detail. Loom Solver brings cloth presets, material regions, pins, seams, draping and collisions into one workflow. Loom Wrinkle follows the simulation or a matching cache and rest surface, letting you shape fine folds with painted influence and local subdivision.

Inside the system

Built around
the real workflow.

Every layer is designed to shorten repeated setup while leaving the final Houdini result available for the artist.

01

Start from the cloth behavior

Use cloth and garment presets, then tune regional materials, seams and draping for the shot.

02

Direct the constrained areas

Use painted pin weights and collision controls to define where the fabric follows and where it moves.

03

Keep long simulations manageable

Create background caches with input snapshots, job status, stop controls and checkpoint continuation.

04

Add the finishing folds

Use Loom Wrinkle with live Solver output or a verified cache and rest surface. Shape the effect with painted masks and local subdivision.

The workflow

From first input
to native result.

01

Prepare the cloth

Connect cloth and collision geometry, choose a starting material and set the rest surface.

02

Shape the motion

Adjust regional materials, pins, seams and drape settings, then simulate with Vellum.

03

Save the simulation

Cache the main motion and inspect job progress before moving to surface detail.

04

Finish with Wrinkle

Connect the simulation or matching cache and rest surface, then tune wrinkle influence and local detail.

Native by design

The setup helps.
The result stays yours.

Nodely tools create results that remain part of the Houdini scene. Inspect them, adjust them and hand them forward without turning the product into the only place where the work can live.

Questions

Before the
first shot.

01Do I activate both tools separately?

No. Activate the shared license once through Nodely Hub in Loom Solver. Loom Wrinkle uses the same activation.

02Can Wrinkle use a saved simulation?

Yes. Use a verified cloth cache together with its matching rest surface, or connect directly to Loom Solver.

03Does this include Houdini?

No. A compatible Houdini installation is required. The current download contains Indie HDALC assets for Houdini 20.5, 21 and 22.

04Does Wrinkle replace the main cloth simulation?

No. Loom Solver handles the main Vellum cloth motion. Loom Wrinkle adds surface detail afterward; native wrinkle deformation does not solve self collision.

05What does the annual license cover?

149 USD per year plus applicable VAT or sales tax covers both tools. Activate once for the pair, with updates during the active subscription.

04How does the annual license work?

The annual license renews automatically each year until canceled and includes product updates and supported Houdini builds while active.
