Know whether an OpenEXR sequence is technically ready to hand off. Preflight checks flat, multipart and deep ranges for missing or corrupt frames, inconsistent headers, invalid pixels, alpha and depth problems without writing to the source.

Preflight makes EXR quality visible before a sequence enters delivery. It never writes to the source. Findings that cannot be measured remain clearly marked, so the report separates a clean scan from an unfinished one.

Compare the headers
Check dimensions, windows, channels, parts, compression, sampling, pixel aspect, line order and other required header fields across the range.
Scan the pixels
Measure NaN, Inf, negative color, alpha range, black and constant frame conditions from native image data rather than relying on filenames or metadata alone.
Inspect deep data safely
Scan deep depth and sample distributions within an explicit resource budget. Unmeasured checks remain clearly marked in the result.
Keep the source read only
The validator opens the sequence for reading only and writes reports to a separate destination outside the source directory.

Open the HTML report for people and send the structured JSON results to the next pipeline step.

01Can I buy Preflight separately?
No. Preflight is available only as part of Freelancer Pack, together with DeliveryDesk and Turntable Station.
02Does Preflight modify the source sequence?
No. Source EXRs are opened for reading only and reports must be written to a separate destination.
03Does a clean report replace image review?
No. Preflight reports technical findings for the selected profile. It does not judge the image, composition or client approval.
04Does Preflight support deep OpenEXR?
Yes. Deep sample and depth checks are implemented with an explicit memory budget, and anything that could not be measured remains clearly marked.
04How does the annual license work?
The annual license renews automatically each year until canceled and includes product updates and supported Houdini builds while active.
